EAPN England chairs the Social Policy Task Force, which is a working group of anti-poverty groups and grassroots activists with direct experience of poverty, which has worked with the Department for Work and Pensions in recent years on the development of the National Action Plan on Social Inclusion (NAP). The SPTF produced a Shadow NAP put together from the experiences of people living in poverty and exclusion. Much of this was included as an annexe to the NAP and drawn on for the main report. The first UK People Experiencing Poverty Conference was held in July 2007.
